
The Missouri Life Science Research Trust Fund was established in 2003 to support the development of life sciences research and commercialization. Researchers in Missouri can apply for grants from this fund to increase their research capacity.
Eligible research areas include:
- Animal science
- Plant science
- Medical device
- Biomaterials and composite research
- Diagnostics
- Nanotechnology related to drug development and delivery
- Clinical imaging
- Information technology related to human health
Beginning in FY2007, 25 percent of Missouri funds received from the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement were deposited into this fund. This funding will continue on a yearly basis in perpetuity.
